Today we docked in Bodo, the capital of Nordland County just north of the Arctic Circle and known as the gateway to Norway's true north. We walked thru town and then boarded the MS Kong Harald to the port of Stamstadt, one of the many islands of Lofoten, an archipelago in Norway known for its dramatic scenery. I boarded a bus in Stamstadt for an optional tour of Vestvagoya, the central island in Lofoten. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, lakes and all the daylight at 9 pm! We visited the largest fishing village in Storvagan (now a museum) during the 19th century. The bus arrived in Svolvaer where we boarded our ship and headed for our next stop.
