Ekeberg Sculpture Park in Oslo - Friday, April 26, 2019

Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) took us on a guided tour thru the Vigeland Sculpture Park today so we learned a lot more of what we saw on our own.   In the afternoon with our free time we hiked up to Ekeberg Sculpture Park and were able to get the best view of Oslo. Edward Munch is said to have been inspired to paint his famous painting, The Scream, when he saw a sunset from this park.  Lots of interesting and strange sculptures all thru the park, horseback trails, camping areas and nice hiking paths.   It was worth a trip to go there and was recommended by our OAT guide, Anita.  We also happened to see a short military parade on Karl Johans Gate, the main thoroughfare of the city which goes from the Oslo central Station up to the Royal Palace of King Harald and Queen Sonja.  Norway is a monarchy. The legislative and executive powers are elected by the people.  The prime minister is female and the next two in power are female as well.
